Award-winning Vietnamese films screened in Italy

10 locally award-winning Vietnamese films are being screened in Venice, Italy, from June 7 to 21 as part of the Vietnamese Cultural Days held in the country.

The films, most of which have won prizes at the Vietnam Film Festival, include “Ben khong chong” (The wharf without a husband), “Thoi xa vang” (The bygone time), “Song trong so hai” (Living in fear), “Chuyen cua Pao” (Pao’s story), “Choi voi” (Disoriented)- a film on lesbians, “Tam hon me” (The mother’s soul), “Mui co chay” (The scent of burned grass), “Ao lua Ha Dong” (The Ha Dong silk ao dai), “Canh dong bat tan” (The infinite field) and “Khat vong Thang Long” (The Thang Long aspirations).

Produced between 2000 and 2011, these films have been enthusiastically embraced by local viewers.

The program is jointly put on by the Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Motion Pictures Office and the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy as part of the activities celebrating the 40th anniversary of Vietnam–Italy diplomatic ties.
