The well-known Japanese jazz band “Unit Asia” will perform for free in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in the middle of this month.
The event is organized by the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam in collaboration with the Consulate General of Japan in HCMC to celebrate the 40th year of the establishment of Vietnam – Japan diplomatic relations.
Famous local singer Tung Duong will share the stage with the band.
Formed in 2008, Unit Asia includes five outstanding musicians including three famous Japanese musicians, Isao Miyoshi (guitar), Hiroyuki Noritake (drum) and Shigeki Ippon (bass), talented Thai saxophonist Koh Mr.Saxman, and promising Malaysian pianist Tay Cher Siang. The band has toured many countries and impressed audiences by playing several musical genres such as jazz, fusion and pop.
Last February the band performed in Vietnam and received positive responses from local audiences.
The shows will take place at 7:30 on July 12 at Hanoi’s Tuoi Tre Theater, 11 Ngo Thi Nham Street in Hai Ba Trung District; and on July 14 at HCMC’s Ben Thanh Theater at 6 Mac Dinh Chi Street in District 1.
Free tickets are being released at the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam at 27 Quang Trung Street in Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem District, and Ben Thanh Theater.
