A young Vietnamese woman, who was runner up to a local ethnic beauty pageant, will compete at Miss World 2014, which is slated to kick off on November 20 and wrap up in mid December.

Nguyen Thi Loan, 24, has earned the nod from the Performing Arts Department to partake in the world’s largest beauty pageant.

According to Elite, a local model training company, which prepares the Vietnamese contestant’s application for this year’s pageant, Loan has trained intensively for months to prep for the event.

She’s currently making a short film introducing about herself and her country at the pageant.

Loan’s strengths include great physique, good education, adequate command of English and facial features typical of Vietnamese women, according to Elite.

The 1.76m tall beauty, who weighs 58kg and boasts body measurements of 90-63-93, was one of the strong candidates for the Miss Vietnam 2010 crown.

Loan was named runner-up at the 2013 Miss Ethnic Vietnam.

In late September, Loan appeared on the website of Miss World 2014 pageant as the Vietnamese representative, but the Performing Arts Department said that they did not receive the beauty’s application for permission by then.

The finale of the Miss World 2014 pageant, in its 64th year, is set to take place on December 14 in London- the pageant’s cradle.

More than 130 contenders from countries and territories the world over will showcase their gorgeous looks and talents at the event.
