A French cultural institute in Vietnam will patronize a film festival next year to honor new talents and nurture creativity in the local visual-audio field.

The “Clap!” fest is slated to take place in Hanoi from January 17 to 25 and gather Vietnamese and French artists, according to Vietnamplus – a member of the Vietnam News Agency.

It will showcase films created by fledgling directors at cinemas, on television and on the web.

The festival will be patronized by the French Institute in Vietnam and will run at L'Espace, at 24 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem District.

The screenings will introduce films in seven genres: Short Films, Premier Features, Short Programs, Videos on the Internet, Scripted Reality, Series and Creation Video.

Admission to the screenings is free.

Local and French guest speakers will also share their opinions on the growth of the visual-audio sector during several exchanges.

According to the organizer, the festival will also be held in different locations apart from Hanoi.
