Seventy-five artists passionate about contemporary art in Vietnam will be presented in a book, to be published alongside the organization of a large-scale art exhibition later this year.

The book publication is a part of the Vietnam Eye project, held by Parallel Contemporary Art of the renowned life insurer and asset manager Prudential.

The project is the eighth of the Global Eye Program, founded in 2008, which aims to develop arts infrastructure in territories where this is lacking to provide artists with the platforms, support and recognition they need to develop their careers, Paralell Contemporary Art said on its website.

The Vietnam Eye exhibition series are slated to open in Nest by AIA spaces in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi between November 2016 and January 2017, featuring forums and discussions among artists to share experience, according to Parallel Contemporary Art.

After the exhibition, the chosen pieces will be showcased at the START art fair, organized by Prudential at Saatchi Gallery, London in September 2017.

Previous projects from the Global Eye Program include Korean Eye from 2009 to 2012, Indonesian Eye in 2011, Hong Kong Eye in 2013, Malaysian Eye in 2014, Singapore Eye in 2015 and Thailand Eye in 2015, a series of international touring exhibitions and publications providing emerging Asian artists with opportunities to showcase their work.

To date, the program has held 18 exhibitions worldwide, which have been viewed by over two million people.
