British-American film director Christopher Nolan’s summer vacation in Vietnam has been captured in photos taken by local fans.
The family departed the country on Sunday.
In a photo posted on Facebook on Saturday by a Vietnamese cinephile group, Nolan could be seentaking a stroll on a street in downtown Ho Chi Minh City.
The director was accompanied by his wife, film producer Emma Thomas, and their four children.
The photo has already drawn over 2,200 reactions from fans as of Monday, with many expressing their admiration for the director’s work and disappointment at having missed the opportunity to see him in person.
One user posted a ‘we-fie’ he took with Nolan on Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in District 1.

The photos confirmed a mention in a New York Times article published on July 27, in which it said Nolan had taken an interview “from Vietnam, where he was taking a brief break from promotional duties [for Dunkirk].”
Around 11:00 am on Sunday, the family was spotted arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City from a hotel in District 1 to board their flight home.
It is rumored that the director visited Vietnam to find inspiration for his next film.

Christopher Nolan is one of the most successful and acclaimed filmmakers of the 21st century, having directed Hollywood blockbusters Memento, The Dark Knight trilogy, The Prestige, Inception and Interstellar.
Nolan's films are known for their nonlinear storytelling, realistic special effects, and an analogous relationship between the visual language he employs and the overall narrative .
His latest work Dunkirk, which hit cinemas in July, is a re-telling of the historic 1940 evacuation of Allied soldiers during World War II from the beaches and harbor of Dunkirk, in the north of France.
The film has already grossed US$363.71 million worldwide, according to box office revenue tracking site Box Office Mojo.
