It was time for Italy and Hong Kong to take the stage at the 2018 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF 2018) held in the namesake central Vietnamese city on Saturday night.

Local residents and visitors were given the opportunity to witness another two spectacular performances from participants at the international event.

The DIFF 2018 is attended by eight teams including host Vietnam, three-time champion Italy, previous winners the U.S. and France, Poland, Portugal, and first-time contenders Sweden and Hong Kong.

Under the theme “The Legend of Bridges,” the contest will be held over five nights, beginning with a match between Vietnam and Poland on April 30, followed by France and the U.S. on May 26, Italy and Hong Kong on June 2, and Sweden and Portugal on June 9.

The two teams with the most spectacular displays will duel in the final round on June 30 for the championship title.

The first display on Saturday night was performed by Italian Team Martarello, who turned up the heat with their colorful and powerful fireworks against an up-tempo music background.

Meanwhile, Team Vulcan Display Fireworks from Hong Kong lit up their fireworks with a more elegant and gentle approach.

However, the performance still captured the attention of the observers with a captivating and subtle combination of various shapes and colors
