Vietnamese Vice-State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan formally welcomed Crown Prince of Denmark Frederik in Hanoi on Tuesday morning, within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam from Monday through Thursday.
“I would like to welcome the Crown Prince and Princess to the beautiful Hanoi,” Vice-State President Xuan told Prince Frederik during their talks after the welcome ceremony.
Vietnam always attaches great importance to the friendly relationship and effective cooperation with Denmark over the past half-century, she continued.

“We believe that this official visit of the Crown Prince and Princess and other distinguished guests will open a new stage of development in the cooperation between the two countries," she said.
Crown Prince Frederik expressed his joy and thanked the vice-president for the warm welcome.
The Crown Prince also sent the sincere greetings from Queen Margrethe II of Denmark to Vice-State President Xuan and the people of Vietnam.

The visit is aimed at promoting green energy cooperation as Denmark helps Vietnam promote green transition, he continued.
Trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Denmark has grown positively over the past years.
Two-way trade turnover reached US$588.2 million in 2021 and $502.9 million in the first eight months of 2022, up 22 percent year on year.
After large Danish enterprises such as Lego and Pandora invested in Vietnam, Denmark became the third-largest investor in the Southeast Asian country with the total new investment capital of $1.32 billion in the first nine months of 2022.

Following the talks with Vice-State President Xuan, the Crown Prince met with State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on the same day.
He is scheduled to attend a series of conferences and events to promote investment and cooperation in sustainable energy development between Vietnam and Denmark, including a program to promote wind power development in Hai Phong City and another on the efficient use of energy in Ha Nam Province, both in northern Vietnam.
He will also visit Danish companies in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong Province and attend the groundbreaking of a $1 billion Lego factory in Binh Duong, just outside Ho Chi Minh City.
