Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko will pay an official visit to Vietnam from April 5 to 7 at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Tran Hong Ha.
The two deputy prime ministers will co-chair the 24th meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, scientific, and technical cooperation, according to the Vietnam Government Portal.
The meeting will take place this Thursday in Hanoi, Russian news agency Tass reported.
Also, the Russian deputy prime minister will address the plenary session of the Russia-Vietnam Business Forum and visit the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute’s branch in Hanoi.
On Friday, the delegation led by Chernyshenko will visit the Russian pavilion at the Vietnam EXPO 2023 exhibition, which is expected to gather over 500 exhibitors from 15 countries and territories to display their products at the show.
During his visit, the Russian PM and his delegation will review research results of the Joint Vietnam-Russia Tropical Science and Technology Research Center, also known as Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center, Sputnik News said on Tuesday.
Vietnam and Russia established their diplomatic relations on January 30, 1950 and then elevated their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2012.
On March 28, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko and Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi held discussions on a plan to promote the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership.
According to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two nations will mainly hold talks on trade and economic cooperation during the upcoming visit of Chernyshenko.
