A high-ranking delegation of Vietnam led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrived in Indonesia on Monday morning to attend the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related meetings from Tuesday to Thursday at the invitation of Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
The plane carrying the Vietnamese PM and his entourage touched down at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta at 10:30 am (local time).
The delegation was welcomed at the airport by Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, and other Indonesian and Vietnamese officials.
Later in the day, Prime Minister Chinh is scheduled to deliver a speech at the 2023 ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ASEAN BIS).
The prime minister is set to meet with Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and engage in discussions with President Widodo.

The PM will receive leaders from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as representatives from prominent Indonesian businesses.
Additionally, he will be present at the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum slated for Tuesday and Wednesday, which will include the participation of ASEAN leaders, partner countries, international organizations, businesses, and scholars, to promote bilateral cooperation and discuss issues of mutual interest.
The 43rd ASEAN Summit will host its opening ceremony and sessions from Tuesday to Thursday.
The series of associated events are the ASEAN+1 Summit, which includes partner countries like China, South Korea, Japan, the United States, India, Australia, Russia, the United Nations, and Canada, as well as the ASEAN+3 Summit and East Asia Summit.

Participating countries are scheduled to review the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and blueprints in the three pillars of politics-security, economy, and culture-society.
They will also explore ways to enhance ASEAN’s ties with its partners and exchange views on regional and global matters.
On this occasion, the group is expected to endorse and recognize several important documents.
These include the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, the Declaration of ASEAN Concord IV, and documents focused on specific areas of cooperation within the bloc, as well as collaborations between ASEAN and its partners in spheres such as food security, digital economy, blue economy, agriculture, e-vehicle ecosystem, family development, gender equality, pre-school education, and the inclusion of people with disabilities, among others.
