Vietnam’s government and people always attach significance to the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia and cherish the long-standing friendship between the two countries, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told a meeting with Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin in Hanoi on Monday.
The two nations’ diplomatic ties have persisted and flourished for over 70 years, said the Vietnamese government leader.
Vietnam expects to further strengthen cooperation with Russia in various fields, including bilateral and multilateral aspects, to produce benefits for the two peoples, and contribute to regional and global peace, stability and development.
The top Russian official appreciated Vietnam’s role and position in the region and the world.
He underscored that Vietnam is one of Russia’s top priority partners in the Asia-Pacific region.
The two leaders reached a consensus on deeper collaboration at international forums, and support for multilateralism.
PM Chinh highly valued the Russian side for creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese citizens to live, study, and work in Russia.
The Russian State Duma leader arrived in Vietnam on Sunday for his two-day visit to the Southeast Asian country at the invitation of Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Chairman Hue.
PM Chinh affirmed that his visit to Vietnam would deepen the relationship between the two legislative bodies, and cement the comprehensive strategic partnership.
