Chairman of Vietnam’s law-making National Assembly (NA) Vuong Dinh Hue met with General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday morning in Beijing.

At the meeting, which is part of NA Chairman Hue’s ongoing official visit to China from Sunday to Friday this week, the top legislator extended best regards from General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and key leaders of the Vietnamese Party and state to President Xi.

The Vietnamese NA leader expressed his congratulations to China on the significant achievements that the Party, state, and people of China have gained, especially after the 18th CPC National Congress.

Chairman Hue shared his belief that China will manage to fulfill its goals introduced at the 20th CPC National Congress and develop itself into a modern, prosperous, and civilized socialist power, contributing to global peace, cooperation, and development.

President Xi congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic achievements under the leadership of the CPV and Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong, affirming that China endorses Vietnam's development, stability, and success in building socialism.

The two top officials expressed their pleasure at the good outcomes of the Vietnam-China bilateral ties, stressing that both Parties and states share certain similarities in terms of ideology and socialism building.

Chairman Hue emphasized that Hanoi's decision to cultivate relations with Beijing is a strategic priority and a cornerstone of Vietnam’s foreign policy, which is grounded in principles of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, development, multilateralism, and diversification of foreign relations.

The chairman added that Vietnam consistently implements the One-China policy.

President Xi asserted that China attaches great importance to its relations with Vietnam and is willing to bolster and deepen the relations between the two Parties and countries.

The top Vietnamese legislator suggested that both sides strengthen their mutual political trust, beef up high-level exchanges, and promote cooperation in such fields as diplomacy, public security, and national defense.

Chairman Hue stressed the importance of strengthening connectivity via rail, road, sea, and air, while also advocating for cooperation in finance, monetary policies, and digital transformation, alongside promoting people-to-people exchanges between both countries.

President Xi praised the suggestions put forth by the Vietnamese side, affirming China's readiness to uphold strategic exchanges and facilitate meetings at all levels with Vietnam.

He also expressed willingness to share China's experience in Party building and to strengthen cooperation in digital economy, green energy, essential minerals, as well as emerging industries.
