It is legal in Vietnam for same-sex couples to carry out sexual activities while it is illegal for them to marry. However, they are legally allowed to organize wedding ceremonies. Luong The Huy, a juridical official at the Institute for Studies of Society, Economy and Environment, provided Tuoi Tre Newspaper with the dos and don’ts for same-sex couples in Vietnam. Huy warned that it is illegal for same-sex couples to cohabit without registration. Same sex couples are also not allowed to adopt children or resort to surrogate pregnancy.
