The French patrol ship L'Adroit, with 53 officers and sailors on board, arrived in Hai Phong port in Vietnam's northern Hai Phong city on Monday, starting its visit to the city. The ship’s captain is Naval Lieutenant Colonel Luc Regnier. The visit, which is taking place in the France-Vietnam Friendship Year framework in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the two countries' establishment of diplomatic relations, will last for six days until June 1. During the period, the crew will tour the city and have sports exchange activities with local naval units. The crew will also invite representatives of the city People's Committee, the Ministry of National Defense and the Vietnam Marine Police to visit the ship, and a press conference will be held there. According to its schedule, the vessel departed Toulon on January 14, and will return to France on July 15 after fulfilling its missions in the Indian Ocean for 6 months. L’Adroit is a Gowind-class Offshore Patrol Vessel, specially designed to conduct maritime security missions such as surveillance and enforcement at sea, communications, and broadband security.
