The first Fansipan Succulent Festival opened on Thursday in Lao Cai, a mountainous province in northern Vietnam best known for Sa Pa, its bustling tourist hub.
Held at Sun World Fansipan Legend, the festival will run until December 30 as part of Lao Cai’s largest tourism promotion program for 2024.
The event showcases 50 unique succulents, each with its own distinct charm.
Highlights include pink succulents, graptopetalum mendozae, and echeveria crinoline ruffles.

At the Fansipan cable station, a tower made of 3,143 succulents, symbolizing Fansipan Peak -- Indochina's tallest mountain -- has become a major draw for international tourists.
The Fansipan succulent festival is not only a space for displaying succulents but it also offers various interesting activities for families and groups of tourists.
It is a chance for visitors to live slower amid the poetic and imposing landscapes of Sa Pa.
