Incham launches blood drive in town

Incham launches blood drive in town

Sunday, August 18, 2013, 12:00 GMT+7

Approximately 200 Indians came to Ho Chi Minh City’s Ben Thanh Theater today to join the Blood Donation Drive which was organized by The Indian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (Incham) and the Red Cross Society of HCMC.

Donors were required to fill out the blood donation confirmation form before going to the area where a specially trained nurse injected a sterilized needle to draw blood.

“At every moment, someone in distress needs blood. She or he may be a cancer patient, someone who needs the vital fluid after childbirth or surgery, or a victim of an accident. Unfortunately, many such patients are not lucky to receive blood in time, with potentially fatal consequences,” said Incham.

“Therefore, via this campaign, Incham is trying to contribute and to spread the positive message to donate blood.”

Every donor will receive a Donor Card which enables them to get an equal amount of blood donated for free in case the donor needs it. This card does not have any time limit.
