-- A tropical depression off Vietnam’s Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago developed Sunday into a storm, named Kujira, which is the first to hit Vietnam this year.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City subway route No.4, which connects the Ben Cat Bridge in Go Vap District and Nguyen Van Linh Street in District 7, will be the longest and most expensive of its kind, with a length of 39km and a total investment of VND97 trillion (US$4.46 billion), according to the project management board.

-- The first shipment of 17 tons of Vietnamese litchis has been exported to Australia, a sweet fruit for Vietnam after 12 years of talks to have its famous tropical fruit enter the market.

-- Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet Air and its Thai counterpart will launch a maiden flight on the Can Tho City – Bangkok route on July 21, according to the administration of the southern Vietnamese city.
