-- The People’s Committee of Binh Duong Province has handed out 100 high-capacity motorcycles to local police in an effort to prevent crime.

-- The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has recently decided to approve a plan to build an underground parking lot at the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden. The projected 1ha area will be capable of housing around 3,000 motorbikes and 100 cars.

-- Vietnamese State President Tran Dai Quang has decided to grant amnesty to 4,180 prisoners, the President's Office announced at a press conference on Wednesday. The amnesty takes effect on December 1.

-- Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Viet Tien has requested health departments in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to inspect healthcare facilities which claim that they can activate children’s brain and turn them into geniuses.

-- A female student in Hanoi was hospitalized suffering a fever, headache, coma and later was diagnosed with Meningococcal meningitis, marking the second case of the illness in Hanoi since March this year.

-- Eighty-seven people around the central city of Hue have been hospitalized for food poisoning after they allegedly ate bread bought from a store in the local An Lo market, and none of them had been discharged as of Wednesday noon. Local authorities have inspected and suspended the store for seven days for investigation.

-- The Vietnamese student delegation has recently won five medals in the 7-9 years old category at the 2016 WeCode programming contest held in Indonesia.

-- The Vietnam Association for Information Processing on Wednesday kicked off the qualifying round of the 2016 ACM-ICPC Asia with the participation of 13 teams from numerous countries and territories, including South Korea, China, Singapore, Indonesia and Taiwan.

-- Discovery Channel has cooperated with the Vietnamese POPS Worldwide channel to bring some show formats of the American channel to Vietnam.

-- Famed Polish pianist Maciej Grzybowski, who was nominated four times for the annual prestigious Polish award Polityka’s Passport, will perform in Ho Chi Minh City on December 2.
