A Vietnamese man has saved a dog’s life by resuscitating it after catching sight of the animal floating in the water while fishing in Ben Tre Province in southern Vietnam late last month.
After Hoang Minh, 20, brought the dog ashore on November 28, he assessed based on the dog’s body temperature that it must have only drowned moments beforehand.
Minh applied manual first aid to the canine for seven minutes in an effort to revive it.
The treatment involved drying the puppy, removing foreign objects from its mouth, turning it upside down, and repeatedly rubbing the abdominal region to clear its lungs of water.

After this he utilized the top half of a plastic bottle as a resuscitator, upon which signs of life from the soaked dog emerged.
Eventually the puppy was able to rise to its feet, giving off feeble sounds and shivering with cold.
Social media channels in Vietnam have echoed praises for Minh's responsiveness, tenacity and kindness toward the animal.
“After taking the puppy from the water, I was very confused and just did what I did without thinking,” he said frankly.
“I didn't actually know the proper paramedic procedure.”
