Thousands stuck on highway as New Year gridlock begins in Saigon

Traffic jams occurred at many different sections on the highway, particular the area between Cat Lai Crossroad in District 2 and Binh Thai Intersection in District 9.

Heavy congestion was also observed on streets surrounding Rach Chiec Bridge in District 2 on Friday.

The gridlock at Rach Chiec Bridge became worse at around noon as more vehicles came to the area from the nearby Cat Lai Port, also located in District 2.
