Two children lost their lives after a motorcycle slammed into a reversing car in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta on Saturday.
The serious accident played out at about 2:00 pm on National Route 80 in Rach Gia, the capital city of coastal Kien Giang Province.
A car was going backward into the road from a driveway when an oncoming motorcycle carrying four people crashed into its rear, police said.
The collision killed an eight-year-old at the scene while severely injuring two adults, all from the motorbike.
The other victim, a three-year-old, was catapulted from the vehicle and died on the way to the hospital.
The driver, who witnesses said was female, fled the scene immediately.
