Police officers in Vietnam have arrested 13 Chinese suspects for operating an illicit drug manufacturing ring with tons of precursors and machinery in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum and the south-central province of Binh Dinh.
Officers under the Ministry of Public Security and the Binh Dinh police department affirmed on Wednesday they had discovered two warehouses containing drug-making chemicals in the province.

They arrested six Chinese suspects and confiscated 286 barrels of chemicals, over 300 bags of powder and other tools used for producing drugs.
Officers did not disclose when the case was busted.

In the meantime, seven other Chinese nationals were apprehended when officers raided a drug manufacturing facility secretly run inside the factory of Dong An Vien Import Export Company in Dak Ha District, Kon Tum Province on August 6.
Law enforcement also confiscated hundreds of liters of liquid, 13 metric tons of chemicals and precursors, and 20 metric tons of machinery designed for making narcotics.

The entire venue was sealed off and a comprehensive examination was carried out on August 6 and 7.
The legal representative of Dong An Vien Company is Tran Ngoc An, a 48-year-old Vietnamese resident in the south-central province of Binh Thuan, according to the investigation.
The factory of the firm was leased to some Chinese nationals, who used the venue for making drugs.

According to Col. Vu Van Hau, deputy head of the anti-drug division under the Ministry of Public Security, the agency had to coordinate with their Chinese counterparts and police units in Kon Tum, Binh Dinh, Ninh Thuan, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City to break up the illicit ring.
The anti-drug unit confirmed on Wednesday morning that investigation is still ongoing for both cases which were operated by the same racket.
