A man in the southern Vietnamese province of Tay Ninh has been caught on CCTV assaulting his wife in front of their child at their house, which runs a small water playground.

The footage of incident surfaced on social media on Sunday and quickly went viral, while many viewers express their anger and concern over the brutal action of the man.

In the video, which is nearly three minutes long, the man first pushed his wife into the swimming pool inside the playground.

He then got into the water before repeatedly choking her and submerging her under the water.

The woman struggled to get up and tried to exit the pool but she ended up being strangled by the man again.

After about a minute of brutality, the husband released her and they both got off the swimming pool.

Another CCTV inside the venue caught the man yelling at the woman just a few minutes after the violence.

He eventually beat her using his fists and elbows, while a young boy, who appeared to be their son, tried helplessly to stop the assault.

According to information on the CCTV footage, the incident happened at around 8:45 pm on September 13.

There seemed to be no one else at the venue aside from the couple and the young boy.

Tran Dinh Xuan, Party secretary in Tan Chau District, Tay Ninh Province, confirmed to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Sunday that the incident occurred at the playground owned by the couple.

The victim is 31-year-old Tran Thi Tuyet Mai, Xuan continued.

Mai has been admitted to the Tay Ninh Province General Hospital with multiple wounds on her face, neck, and body.

“Police have summoned her husband for a working session and will deal with the case in accordance with the law,” the official stated.

Mai and her 33-year-old husband have been married for ten years and have two children. The family earn a livelihood by running the playground, which includes a small pool and water slides.

The wife said her husband would beat her whenever he was drunk, and what happened on the night of September 13 was the latest example.
