Unseasonal rain is forecast to dampen southern Vietnam, while temperature will also decrease due to the effect of a cold spell during the first half of this week.
Cloudy weather is expected in the better part of the day in southern localities, including Ho Chi Minh City, this week, the southern hydro-meteorological station reported, adding that rain is more likely to occur in the evening.
According to Le Dinh Quyet, an official of the weather station, unseasonal rain will only fall with low intensity in several areas.
Temperature will be relatively lower compared to previous days, ranging from 20 to 23 degrees Celsius at the lowest to 31-33 degrees Celsius at the highest, Quyet elaborated.
As the cold front will intensify on Wednesday, temperature in the region is expected to continue dropping.
It is also forecast to be rainy and foggy in provinces in northern and north-central Vietnam under the influence of the cold snap.
The weather in the regions will become chilly late at night and early in the morning.
According to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, mercury in the Red River Delta, including Hanoi, will be at 16-22 degrees Celsius on Monday.
In mountainous areas, temperature may drop to 12 degrees Celsius.
