Police in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, are searching for a young man who fled the scene after his motorbike collided with two foreign women on Nguyen Hue Walking Street, leaving them injured and requiring hospitalization, according to Cong An Nhan Dan (People’s Police) newspaper.
According to the initial investigation, at approximately 11:11 pm on October 20, a young man wearing a black raincoat and a white helmet was riding a motorbike on Nguyen Hue Street, heading from Le Loi Street toward Huynh Thuc Khang Street in District 1.
At the intersection of Nguyen Hue and Ton That Thiep Streets, the man struck Karlina Oktiwi, born in 1997, and Astri Yanti Gusman, born in 1992 - both Indonesian nationals - who were crossing the street.
Following the collision, the young man briefly uprighted his motorbike, restarted it, and fled the scene.
The two injured women were taken to Cho Ray Hospital in District 5 for emergency treatment.
District 1 police have urged the young man to promptly come forward and cooperate with the investigation.
Additionally, witnesses or anyone with information about the young man involved are asked to contact the traffic police team of District 1 at 82 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Cau Ong Lanh Ward, District 1, or reach Lieutenant Vo Duong Trong Nghia at 0947.631.236 to assist with the investigation and help determine the cause of the accident.
