Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on March 11 ordered ministries and localities to speed up plans for the establishment of large-scale quarantine facilities and ready their resources in light of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Southeast Asian country has so far confirmed 87 cases of COVID-19 infections, with 16 having fully recovered and walked out of the hospital free of the virus by February 26.
A patient in the northern province of Ninh Binh was released from the hospital on Friday morning after testing negative for the novel coronavirus for three times.
He was the first and only recovery so far among the 71 ‘second-phase’ cases confirmed in the country since March 6.
No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Vietnam.
