COVID-19 Updates

-- No COVID-19 cases were reported in Vietnam on Tuesday morning, while nearly 46,500 people have received COVID-19 vaccination so far in the country. The COVID-19 tally stood at 2,594, with 2,308 recoveries and 35 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health.

-- Six people in a family were killed while another was injured after a fire broke out at a house in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday morning.

-- An eight-year-old boy died and a seven-year-old was hospitalized after drinking rodenticides contained in a nameless bottle they had found on the street in the southern province of Dong Nai last weekend.

-- Competent authorities in Long Bien District, Hanoi confirmed on Monday they had raided a warehouse stashing more than 3,000 footwear products imitating such famous brands as Dior, Chanel, Gucci, Burberry, and Adidas.

-- A tenth-grade student was found dead by hanging inside his room at his school’s dormitory in the northern province of Bac Kan on Monday afternoon.

-- Police in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap have arrested three men for stealing dogs and killing an owner early on Saturday morning.

-- The People’s Court in the southern province of Binh Duong on Monday sentenced a 35-year-old woman to life in prison for fraud and appropriation of more than VND81 billion (US$3.5 million).

-- Officers inspected six filling stations in Ho Chi Minh City and southern Dong Nai Province on Monday as they were allegedly involved in a large-scale fake gasoline ring.
