Illegal weapons, including swords, tear gas sprayers, stun batons, knives, tridents, and machetes of different kinds are confisticated by police officers in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Police in Hanoi apprehended a married couple on Monday for running an online weapon ring.

Last week, officers raided the warehouse of an apartment in Gia Lam District and discovered nearly 3,000 weapons, including 465 swords, 680 tear gas sprayers, 211 stun batons, 650 knives, nearly 200 tridents, and machetes of different kinds.

Functional forces later summoned suspects in neighboring areas and found several suspects to be involved in the weapon dealing.

Police then arrested the married couple Vu Kim Hoa, 32, and ex-prisoner Nguyen Dang Ninh, 35, both hailing from northern Vietnam, as they were determined to be the ring leaders.

The arms traders were reported to order weapons from Mong Cai International Border Gate in Quang Ninh Province and Tan Thanh International Border Gate in Lang Son Province, and then gathered them for sale at the apartment in question.

The ring’s weapon sales were made primarily online through video clips and live streams on social media and delivered to buyers via shipping services.

Police believed the ring to be a wholesaler distributing a large volume of illicit weapons to brokers and sellers operating across different regions throughout Vietnam.
