-- Vietnamese State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and a high-ranking delegation offered incense at the Hung Kings Temple in northern Phu Tho Province on Sunday morning on the occasion of the Hung Kings Commemoration Day.

COVID-19 Updates

-- The Ministry of Health documented 34,140 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, raising the national tally to 10,169,929, with 8,497,532 recoveries and 42,794 deaths.

-- During a teleconference on Saturday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged the health ministry to devise new COVID-19 prevention and control scenarios to make Vietnam always ready in the response to the new developments of the pandemic and the possible appearance of more dangerous coronavirus strains.


-- Nearly 400 passengers boarded the first express boat connecting central Da Nang City with Ly Son Island off central Quang Ngai Province on Saturday afternoon.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has proposed 23 more streets in seven districts where cars are allowed to park on the roadway for a fee, in addition to the existing eight streets.

-- A fire broke out at a shop selling motorbike parts in southern Binh Phuoc Province on Saturday, burning down many motorcycles and causing damage worth nearly VND1 billion (US$43,700).

-- Two people in Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City died of alcohol poisoning on Saturday while two others are still treated at the hospital, with police suspecting they had consumed the wrong type of alcohol by mistake during a party.


-- Many racers were injured in an accident as they were about to cross the finish line in the fifth stage of the 2022 Ho Chi Minh City TV (HTV) Cup tournament in northern Vietnam on Saturday.

-- The Vietnamese futsal team will compete with Myanmar for the third place at the 2022 AFF Futsal Championship at 2:30 pm on Sunday. The winner of the match will qualify for the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup.
