The luxurious wedding of Mongolian entrepreneurs E. Zorigtbaatar and E. Enkhriitsetseg took place on Thursday aboard the Nautilus cruise ship in An Thoi Ward, Phu Quoc City, off the southern coast of Vietnam.

The ceremony blended the couple's traditional Mongolian culture with elements of Vietnamese cultural customs.

Gantulga Boldbaatar, a family member of the Mongolian couple, said that a direct air route between Mongolia and Vietnam made the trip particularly convenient.

Boldbaatar and his family members first learned about Phu Quoc from various media outlets and international tours, he shared.

“Phu Quoc is a bustling tourist destination boasting charming beaches and islets, while our homeland is surrounded by prairies and forests," he said. “We chose to organize the wedding party aboard the Nautilus cruise ship on Phu Quoc Island to enjoy wonderful moments."

“This is the first wedding ceremony held in Phu Quoc City by Mongolians,” said Le Quang Duy, CEO at Namaste Investment & Development Joint Stock Company, headquartered in An Thoi Ward.

“Their wedding was designed to comprise a voyage from May Rut Ngoai Islet to Kiss Bridge, treating the couple and their guests to the splendid scenery of the sea and sunset."

Mongolia is a potential tourism source market for Vietnam. Since the start of 2024, Kien Giang Province, where Phu Quoc is situated, has welcomed over 21,600 travelers from Mongolia, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.

Kien Giang will continue tapping such tourism source markets as Southeast Asia, China, South Korea, India, and Mongolia.
