Vietnamese tour operator PYS Travel has launched Sjourney, Vietnam’s first luxury train offering a seven-day, cross-country journey, marking a significant milestone in the country’s railway tourism.
Sjourney embarked on its inaugural journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi on Wednesday, offering passengers a seven-day adventure filled with luxury and cultural exploration.
Developed in collaboration with Railway Transport JSC, Gia Lam Train JSC, and Vietnam Railways Corporation, Sjourney is expected to elevate Vietnam’s railway tourism industry while promoting the country’s cultural heritage.
Designed in a classic Indochine style, the train features premium wooden interiors, plush bedding, and warm lighting to ensure maximum comfort for passengers.
The Sjourney SE61 train departs Hanoi every Wednesday evening, stopping at iconic destinations such as Ninh Binh, Quang Binh, Hue, Hoi An, Nha Trang, and Phan Thiet, before concluding at Saigon Station in Ho Chi Minh City the following Wednesday morning.
The return journey, SE62, departs the same evening.
Sjourney offers a five-star dining experience with menus that blend local flavors and international cuisines prepared by professional chefs.
The journey also includes exclusive off-train excursions allowing passengers to explore Vietnam’s prominent landmarks and immerse themselves in local culture.
PYS Travel added that tickets for December 2024 are priced at US$7,320 per passenger, inclusive of all meals and amenities.
From 2025, ticket prices will rise to $8,610 per person.
