Hanoi police are verifying a case where a woman tried to cling to a car door, then was pushed down the road as the driver accelerated and turned the steering wheel on Ring Road 3 on Sunday.

The car in question is a crystal blue Mazda 5, according to footage from a dashboard camera.

After the Mazda 5 pulled over near the Thanh Tri Bridge when traveling on Ring Road 3 in the direction to northern Bac Ninh Province at 1:55 pm on Sunday, a woman dressed in black ran to and clung to the door on the right of the steering wheel, trying to get inside.

The Mazda 5 driver then accelerated and turned the steering wheel to knock the woman down.

When the car drove about 30 meters away, the woman fell on the road, almost being crushed by the vehicle.

But the woman was safe in the end.

The driver then abandoned the woman and drove away.

A traffic police official said later on the same day that officers were clarifying the incident.
