Police in Ho Chi Minh City arrested a man on suspicion of murdering his own father after the victim refused to give him money.
Officers in Phu Nhuan District confirmed on Tuesday they had apprehended Nguyen Anh K., 30, the prime suspect in the murder of his father – 72-year-old N.V.B..
Preliminary information showed that B. lived with K. at their home on Thich Quang Duc Street in Ward 5, Phu Nhuan District.
B.’s relatives reported to local police on Tuesday morning that they had been unable to contact the man for several days.
Officers arrived at B.’s house at around 11:00 am the same day and found that the door was locked from the outside.

As no one answered their call, the officers decided to break open the door and discovered B.’s body inside the residence with multiple injuries.
His son was not home at the time.
Police launched an investigation into the case and captured K. later the same day as he was staying at a hotel in District 10.
At the police station, K. claimed that he asked his father to give him some money, but the latter refused.
K. killed B. on Monday afternoon before taking his father’s money and gold.
