A pit bull dog weighing more than 30 kilograms continuously bit an eight-year-old boy’s hand and neck, leading to his death afterwards in the southern Vietnamese province of Binh Phuoc on Friday.

The victim is P.N.T.T., living in Dong Phu District, the local police confirmed on Saturday.

The accident happened at the house of Le Thi Lien, T.’s grandmother, at around 5:30 pm on Friday.

While the boy was playing alone at the back of the house, a pit bull weighing more than 30 kilograms chained behind the residence suddenly attacked him, biting repeatedly on his hand and neck.

Hearing T.’s screams, the family members rushed to chase the dog away and quickly took him to a hospital for emergency treatment.

However, the eight-year-old died from critical injuries.

The pit bull in question belongs to Lien’s neighbor, who was not at home in recent days, according to some locals’ accounts.

Lien had brought the pet to the back of her house to take care of it on behalf of the neighbor until the heartbreaking incident happened.
