COVID-19 Updates

-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Health documented 1,815 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, raising the national tally to 11,364,355, with 10,014,637 recoveries and 43,097 deaths.


-- Police in southern Dong Nai Province confirmed on Saturday they had arrested a 30-year-old truck driver to facilitate the investigation into a pile-up that involved eight cars and motorbikes and killed at least one person on Friday night.

-- Officers in northern Hai Phong City raided a local club early on Saturday morning and discovered that 63 people at the venue had been using narcotics.

-- A 34-year-old man from Hai Phong stabbed his wife to death at their house before attempting to kill himself on Saturday afternoon. He was later taken to the hospital and is no longer in a critical condition.

-- Doctors in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho have successfully saved a four-year-old boy who had a stroke due to cerebral venous thrombosis.

-- Officers rescued a man but were unable to find his wife and two children after a fire engulfed their house in south-central Ninh Thuan Province on Saturday morning. The search for the missing victims was halted on the same night and resumed on Sunday morning.

-- Many ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of other countries in Vietnam cycled around Hanoi on Saturday as part of the 2022 ASEAN Family Day, which was held on the occasion of the bloc’s 55th anniversary.
