A sleeper bus hit and killed a man who was waiting for his bus on the sidewalk in Vinh Long Province, Vietnam’s Mekong Delta region, on Friday before slamming against multiple vehicles and crashing into a coffee shop.

The victim was determined as Le Hoang Thuan, 31, hailing from An Giang Province, while the bus driver is 41-year-old Nguyen Thanh Phong from Bac Lieu Province, according to the Vinh Long police.

The deadly traffic accident happened at around 10:00 am on Friday when Phong was steering the sleeper bus on National Highway 1.

The bus suddenly crashed into Thuan, who was waiting for his bus on the sidewalk in Tan Ngai Ward, Vinh Long City in the namesake province.

It then swept through a truck parked inside a filling station before slamming against multiple motorcycles and crashing into a coffee shop.

Thuan got stuck under the bus and died on the spot.
