A construction and real estate group chairman has been accused of hitting a golf course employee in Da Nang City, central Vietnam with a club and refusing to directly apologize to or compensating her earlier this week.
D., who came to the BRG Da Nang golf course in Da Nang on Tuesday to play golf, attacked a female employee of the golf course with a golf club, making the club break, according to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper's understanding.
On the day, D. and his friends came to the golf course in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District and L. was assigned to serve these customers.
Due to an argument over the number of clubs used in a hole, D. used the golf club to beat L., injuring her.
L. was later taken to a hospital for treatment.
D. is currently the chairman of a large group specializing in construction and real estate in Da Nang’s neighbor – Quang Nam Province.
After the case, a golf club in Da Nang announced its ostracism of D. and called on golf associations and golf courses in the central region and nationwide as a whole to ostracize the man.
L. on Sunday told Tuoi Tre that she has been discharged from the hospital and her health condition has been stable but she is unable to return to work.
She said D. has not met and compensated her. He has just apologized to her through her company.
“At first, D. wanted to come to my house but my company refused to give him my address as after beating me, D. made threats against me. My company said it would handle the case, so it does not reveal my information,” L. added.
A representative of the golf course said after the case, many employees at the golf course are angry. The two sides are working to handle the case.
Tuoi Tre has called D. to confirm the information but has yet to receive his response.
