-- Police in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam detained a local suspect who robbed a bank with a fake gun and took away some VND20 million (US$846) on Wednesday afternoon.

-- Police in Ho Chi Minh City arrested 86 suspects who allegedly impersonated bankers to swindle money through an online phishing ring on Wednesday.

-- The Cao Lanh City People’s Court in Dong Thap Province, located in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, sentenced a man to 14 years in prison on Wednesday for attempted murder after he stabbed another man during a gang fight in April, causing severe injuries to the victim.
