-- The weather is forecast to remain cloudy with the ultraviolet index at a high level in Vietnam’s southern region on Monday while light rains are expected for some parts in the north, according to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.
-- Colorful fireworks displays will blast off from six locations in Ho Chi Minh City at 0:00 on January 22 to welcome the Lunar New Year for the first time after a two-year COVID-19 hiatus, the city authorities announced on Sunday.
-- Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended the online groundbreaking ceremony of the Nhat Le 3 Bridge project, which costs VND1.3 trillion (US$55.3 million), in north-central Quang Binh Province on Sunday.
-- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recently requested the Ministry of Public Security to streamline administrative procedures related to the issuance and application of electronic visa, which he considers one of the factors dampening Vietnam’s tourism growth in 2022.
-- The Ministry of Transport has allowed Korean Air – the flag carrier and the biggest airline of South Korea – to operate irregular flights carrying passengers between Incheon and Lien Khuong Airport in Lam Dong Province from January 4-24, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
