Vietnam announces winner of American-style jackpot of $3.9mn

Vietnam’s state-run lottery company Vietlott announced on Tuesday the winner of the American-style Mega 6/45 jackpot, which is worth over VND92 billion (US$3.9 million), the highest value ever awarded to an SMS ticket holder.
The winner bought the ticket via the MobiFone mobile network’s SMS channel.
The odds of matching all six numbers in the drawing - 06, 27, 29, 32, 39 and 52 - were one in 8.1 million.
Another Vietlott customer living in Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City in the Mekong Delta region won the runner-up prize worth over VND5.5 billion ($233,125).
After paying taxes, the two winners will receive more than VND83 billion ($3.5 million) and VND4.9 billion ($207,693), respectively.
Over six years of business, Vietlott has recorded more than 90 million winning tickets with a total payout of more than VND15.27 trillion ($647.2 million), news site VnExpress reported.
