-- A seventh-grade student drowned while two others are missing after swimming at a beach in Ha Tinh Province, north-central Vietnam on Saturday.

-- Police in Ho Chi Minh City are investigating a case in which a man allegedly let a three-year-old boy with hands tied use meth after a video of his acts went viral on social networks.

-- Work on Nam Ly Bridge in Thu Duc City under Ho Chi Minh City was resumed on Saturday after four years of suspension due to bottlenecks in site clearance. The project, requiring an estimated investment of VND919 billion (US$39 million), is expected to be completed within 14 months after the site clearance is done.

-- Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park J.V. Co. (VSIP) on Saturday signed memoranda of understanding with nine Vietnamese provinces to develop industrial parks. The move was made following the success of the VSIP model in Binh Duong Province, just outside Ho Chi Minh City.

-- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has inspected the progress of the T2 passenger terminal project at Phu Bai International Airport in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue and asked contractors to quickly complete it and put it into operation. The project management board informed that the project is now some 95 percent complete.

-- The National Tourism Year 2023 kicked off in the south-central province of Binh Thuan on Saturday evening with a drone light show, a hot-air balloon show, and a low-altitude fireworks display. The National Tourism Year 2023 will feature more than 200 events to boost local tourism development.

-- Vietnam’s automaker VinFast on Saturday announced the opening of its store in Rennes, marking its presence in the West of France. This is the third VinFast store in France and the 11th in Europe.
