Two separate drowning accidents killed three men in a hydropower reservoir in Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam on Sunday and Monday.

The last body among the three victims, 45-year-old Phan Van Ha, was retrieved by rescuers on Tuesday morning, local officials announced.

The search for Ha was carried out after authorities determined that he had accompanied deceased 36-year-old Vu Quoc Tuan on a fishing trip in Tri An Hydropower Reservoir.

Tuan was declared dead from drowning after a group of fishermen found his body in the lake at around 10:00 pm on Monday evening.

The fishing boat carrying Ha and Tuan overturned, leading to the drowning, according to some locals.

Earlier on Sunday, Dinh Bao Tin, 19, hailing from Long Thanh District in the same province, also drowned in Tri An Reservoir.

Rescuers found Tin’s body two hours after his friends reported his disappearance during their camping trip at the lake.

The man went for a bath in the water alone and never returned.
