-- The People’s Committee of Hanoi has mandated face mask wearing at supermarkets, bars, movie theaters, on public buses, and at many other public places after the national daily count of new COVID-19 cases exceeded 1,500, including 100 in the capital city, on Tuesday.

-- The Department of Education and Training of Quang Ninh Province in northern Vietnam issued an order on Tuesday requiring face masks during school time.

-- The Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City has sent a document to the municipal Department of Public Security to require police officers to strictly handle motorcyclists traveling in the wrong direction, causing traffic disorder. 

-- The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam completed upgrading Cam Ranh International Airport in south-central Khanh Hoa Province and resumed its operation on Tuesday.

-- Authorities in Ba Dinh District, Hanoi said on Tuesday that they had suspended a restaurant for serving leftover hotpot broth.

-- Police in Hanoi said on Tuesday that they had arrested a car driver for drifting to show off his driving skill in front of the Hanoi Opera House, disturbing public order the day before.

Business

-- Vietnam exported 381,780 metric tons of rubber worth US$531.3 million in January-March, down 6.1 percent in volume and 25.7 percent in value over the same period in 2022, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

-- A delegation of French experts and representatives from Ho Chi Minh City departments and agencies took a water bus tour on Tuesday afternoon to survey the Saigon River for investment purposes.

Education

-- The Ministry of Education and Training voiced concerns over the dense population and lack of schools in the southeastern region, calling for private investments at a conference on educational development in southern Binh Duong Province on Tuesday.
