A tourist bus fell off the side of a hill following a collision with a motorcycle on Sunday in Phu Tho Province, northern Vietnam, leaving at least three people injured, confirmed a local official.

The accident occurred at around 11:30 am when the 45-seater bus carrying over 20 tourists, including foreigners, was en route from Hanoi to the province’s Tan Son District.

The bus collided with the motorbike and rolled down the hill, a police officer of Xuan Dai Commune, Tan Son District told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Sunday afternoon.

Tran Dung, an eyewitness, said that the bus fell down the hill, crashed into a trail at the foot of the hill, and overturned.

Some occupants escaped the bus, then broke the bus doors to rescue others trapped inside.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, the police officer said, adding that many of the passengers are international tourists.

Police in Tan Son are investigating the cause of the crash.
