Nearly 10 tourists from a group of 37 individuals visiting Da Nang experienced unexplained cases of food poisoning on Monday morning, despite the fact that a member of the delegation claimed they did not dine together at the same location.
Hospital 199, a medical facility operated by the Ministry of Public Security in Da Nang, reported on the same morning that their emergency department attended to the aforementioned tourists.
Upon admission to the hospital, the patients presented symptoms such as vomiting, abdominal pain, and frequent defecation.
Among the hospitalized individuals, some were in stable condition and discharged promptly.
Currently, there are seven patients receiving hospital care, including two children.
The patients reported that their pain began at 2:00 am on the same day and persisted.
“Upon admission to the hospital, the patients received medication and underwent tests, resulting in most of them showing improvement,” said Dr. Cao Thi Xoan from Hospital 199’s emergency department.
“However, two cases involving two pediatric patients born in 2015 are currently under close observation while awaiting test results.”

One member of the 37-tourist group told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that they arrived in Da Nang on Sunday for their trip.
Throughout their stay, the group had only consumed two meals.
However, the meals were not taken collectively but rather in small, independent groups.
The affected tourists who experienced poisoning were uncertain about the cause and the specific locations where they ate and drank.
Nevertheless, it was noted that a majority of the hospitalized individuals had dined at a restaurant in Son Tra District, although they were unable to recall the exact address.
Nguyen Tan Hai, head of Da Nang City’s Food Safety Management Board, confirmed that he was aware of the incident and had dispatched personnel to the hospital to gather information about the poisoning incident.
At noon on Monday, the Medical Center of Son Tra District and the Food Safety Management Board of Da Nang City initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the food poisoning.
