-- Police in Thach Thanh District, Thanh Hoa Province, north-central Vietnam on Friday detained a 34-year-old local man for splashing acid to his wife’s face, injuring her and causing her to face blindness.

-- The Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau on Friday organized a conference where local shrimp processing and exporting enterprises and aquatic experts met with buyers from 18 other countries worldwide.
-- The Ho Chi Minh Department of Transport has proposed a sea ferry route between Can Gio District and Go Cong Dong District in the neighboring province of Tien Giang. The project carrying a price tag of VND114 billion (US$4.8 million) will be put into operation in the second quarter of next year.
-- The Ministry of Transport has agreed to extend the completion time of the Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressways, subprojects of the mammoth North-South expressway project, to June 2024. The two section have been opened to traffic for over two months but many items have yet to be completed.
-- Denmark’s Green Tech Aps Denmark on Friday inked a cooperation agreement with and poured $1 million into Vietnamese motorcycle repair and maintenance chain True Moto Care to standardize two-wheel vehicle maintenance and repair services in Vietnam.

-- Vietnamese National Assembly chairman Vuong Dinh Hue on Friday launched the first National Worker's Football Championship, the largest-ever football championship for workers in Vietnam. It is co-held by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper, and the Vietnam Football Federation.

-- The Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City Festival kicked off in Porto City, Portugal on Friday. The festival, which will last until Sunday, is held on the occasion of a visit to Porto by a Ho Chi Minh City delegation led by vice chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Duong Anh Duc.
-- Thousands of Vietnamese fans flocked to Noi Bai International Airport and a hotel in Hanoi to welcome four members of K-pop girl band Blackpink, who arrived in the city at midnight on Thursday for their two-night concert on Saturday and Sunday, part of their ongoing second worldwide concert tour.
