-- Following a two-day journey across eight provinces and cities within the Mekong Delta region to assess the ongoing landslide situation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation, dedicated Sunday to visiting enterprises, talking to farmers, and holding discussions with Dong Thap Province’s leaders.

-- Pham Van Son, director of the Vietnam Environmental Incident Response Center, expressed concerns over the flow of a stream of sludge from a copper ore processing plant in Lao Cai Province into the environment. The stream has flown to as near as around 20 kilometers away from the Red River, which courses through nine provinces and cities in the northern region.

-- Authorities in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang on Sunday conducted an inspection at a dining and entertainment establishment in My Tho City and discovered 60 individuals testing positive for narcotics.

-- A collision between a sleeper bus and a 16-seater van on National Highway 4D in Sa Pa Town, Lao Cai Province resulted in 13 injuries on Sunday.

-- Authorities in Da Lat City, located in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, have ordered the investor of the Dalat Flower Valley project to stop building activities and remove all machinery from the construction site because of the risk of landslides on the hillside there.


-- Three members of the Vietur consortium won the VND9-trillion (US$378.8 million) package of the T3 terminal project at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.


-- The People’s Committee of Thu Duc City under Ho Chi Minh City collaborated with the southern representative office of the Vietnam Publishers Association in Ho Chi Minh City to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of the Thu Duc City Book Street project on Sunday.


-- Numerous global newspapers have featured articles expressing condolences to the passing of Brazilian forward Paollo Madeira from Hoang Anh Gia Lai Football Club after a fatal crash between a car and two trucks in Vietnam’s Central Highlands province of Gia Lai on Saturday afternoon.

-- An off-road racing competition commenced at the Buon Don District People’s Committee square in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak on Sunday.
