People in southern, central, and northern Vietnam should stay prepared for heavy rains mostly in the afternoon and evening on Monday, according to the national weather center.

Medium to heavy rains, accompanied by thunderstorms, will likely hit the northern region and north-central Thanh Hoa Province, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said.

In Hanoi, temperatures will fluctuate between 23 and 31 degrees Celsius.

The localities stretching from north-central Nghe An Province to south-central Binh Thuan Province could see showers and scattered thunderstorms in the evening, while these localities could be struck by scorching heat in the daytime, with the highest temperature expected to hit 38 degrees Celsius.

Similarly, provinces and cities in the Central Highlands and southern regions, including Ho Chi Minh City, may experience showers and scattered thunderstorms in the evening, with torrential rains predicted in several locations.

Also, tornadoes, lightning, hail, and wind gusts could happen during the storms.

Temperatures in the Central Highlands and southern regions are forecast to range between 21 and 34 degrees Celsius, the national weather center said.
