Rethink Plastic Vietnam and the Netherlands Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City launched the Plastic Awareness Month 2023 in Vietnam on Thursday.
This year’s campaign focuses on innovative solutions and strategies within Vietnam's plastic landscape.
This annual initiative not only raises awareness but also invites individuals, organizations, and governments to take concrete actions towards reducing plastic pollution.
This September is dedicated to showcasing innovative ideas, product solutions, policy developments, and behavioral changes that can collectively contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
Rethink Plastic Vietnam is a social enterprise with the aim to create awareness and connect stakeholders from business, community and government around the global plastic pollution problem in Vietnam.
Quyen, a passionate advocate for environmental change, a supporter of Rethink Plastic Vietnam, and the owner of Lai Day (Come here) Refill Station in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized the significance of global and local initiatives in combating plastic pollution.
"Working together, we can achieve monumental strides in tackling plastic pollution," Quyen asserted.
A notable highlight of the month is the Clean Up Events scheduled from September 16 to 17, aligning with the global World Cleanup Day movement.
The Clean Up events span a range of over 10 different locations around Vietnam like in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Sa Pa, Phu Quoc, and Vung Tau.
Organizations or individuals can collaborate and participate with Rethink Plastic Vietnam by signing up.
Finishing Plastic Awareness Month is a thought-provoking symposium in collaboration with the International School of Ho Chi Minh City.
This event brings together globally recognised keynote speakers who will share their pioneering research and strategies aimed at addressing the root causes of plastic pollution.
