National Highway 27C, which connects Da Lat City in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, and Nha Trang City in south-central Khanh Hoa Province, two popular tourist destinations in Vietnam, have severely worn away, while many large cracks have formed on its surface, posing a high risk of traffic accidents.
Sections of the road passing through Da Sar and Da Chais Commune in Lac Duong District, Lam Dong have been badly eroded, including three serious erosion sites.
Residents in Village No. 1 of Da Sar Commune said the road had been repeatedly corroded over the past many years.
During the rainy season, the road experienced subsidence, causing danger for commuters, especially at night.

A 20-meter-long section of the road in the village was eroded by some five meters in depth.
Many 20-centimeter-wide cracks are also seen on another 50-meter-long section.
Underground springs are identified as the cause of the corrosion on the road sections in the village.
In Da Chais Commune, a road section was seriously eroded, creating a hole with a diameter of six meters and a depth of 10 meters.
The Lam Dong Department of Transport is committed to repairing these sections in the upcoming time.
